TROOP 795

Welcome Scouts and Parents,

We at Troop 795 are pleased you and your son are considering our troop to begin or extend your scouting experience. This letter is an invitation for both boys and parents to join our troop.

The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Johnson Ferry Road and Bishop Lake Road, sponsors our troop. We meet at our Scout Lodge, located at the back of the church paking lot, every Monday at 7:00 PM. We are proud of the fact that we have a troop made up of individuals from different backgrounds and religions.

Boy Scout Troops are very different from Cub Scout Packs. Troop 795 is a __boy run troop__. The boys set the agenda and run the meetings. __It is through this structure that the boys best learn the leadership and responsibility skills that scouting is all about__. We have outdoor activities scheduled each month.

We continue to assist boys on advancement at all times. The troop offers merit badge clinics for all of the required merit badges for Eagle Scout on an ongoing two-year cycle. A key tenet of scouting is service to the community. We participate in service projects throughout the year, such as Adopt-A-Mile, Habitat for Humanity, Must Ministries, and many others.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of Adult Scouters who volunteer their time to maximize the scouting experience for their sons. Yet, we are always in need of more parents to help plan activities, go on monthly outings, attend summer camp, serve as merit badge counselors, or serve on our troop committee. Please play a part in your son’s scouting experience.

Please come join us by helping develop our boys into young men.
